This Fewest Moves competition is part of CubingZA’s South African National Championship for 2025, but is being hosted in four/five separate venues across the nation, namely Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Durban (and Bloemfontein).
Please note that only the 3x3x3 Fewest Moves will be held officially – this is not an ideal competition for newcomers or those who only know speedsolving. Fewest Moves is comprised of 3 separate 1-hour attempts to solve the cube in the lowest possible number of moves. By WCA regulations, the puzzle must be solved in 80 moves or less in order to be a valid attempt, otherwise the result will be DNF. If you cannot solve the puzzle in 80 moves or less, please consider not registering for this event.
In between each attempt to break up the day will be breaks where we may compete in some unofficial relay events, like 3BLD relays, Guildford or Mini-guildford challenges, team-solving, or 2×2-7×7 relays. More information will be released about these closer to the competition.
GUESTS
Please note that guests and spectators are NOT welcome at this competition, unless special arrangements have been made prior to the event with the competition organisers (for example, for younger competitors that require a parent or guardian present). The venues are small and there must be absolute silence for the duration of each attempt.
